Continent Warsaw - Warsaw of Many Cultures / Kontynent Warszawa – Warszawa Wielu Kultur

The portal is a project created within the famework of the activities undertaken by Fundacja Inna Przestrzeń (Other Space Foundation), created in December, 2006. It is the first portal which in such a complex way provides the information about national and ethnic minorities in Warsaw.

The portal is an expanded information base which can be searched for in many ways. Thanks to the sections in the portal top menu, the information on events, places, institutions, and people (e.g. painters, musicians) in the connection with ethnic and national minorities can be easily looked for.

The main aim of the portal is to present Warsaw's cultural variety in a professional and original way. The portal is particularly focused on promoting such activities, places or institutions which are not widely known by the audience and still are left unknown.

Moreover, the portal promotes Warsaw itself – as a lively city, ethnically varied and open for cultural events and inviting to derive from its rich offer. The aim of Kontynent Warszawa is to help to notice the complexity and variety of the phenomenon which is multiculturalism.

The idea of multiculturalism is also promoted by various events organized and co-organized by the team of the portal. The cyclic project carried out by the people working on the portal are: Dzień Jedności Afryki (African Unity Day), Ludzie z Kontynentu (People From The Continent), Cały Świat w Warszawie – Warszawskie Wielokulturowe Street Party (The Whole World in Warsaw – Warsaw Multicultural Street Party), El Mundo Hispano.

Kontynent Warszawa periodic publication is released. It is focused on minorities and immigrant communities present in Warsaw, providing information on such issues like places, institutions, events connected with a presented minority or comunnity. There is also a event calendar included in the publication. Kontynent Warszawa publication can be found in Warsaw clubs, cafes, restaurants, galleries.

Because the portal and its publication is focused on Warsaw, it is addressed to all its citizens as well as tourists visiting the city. The portal is also available in English, French and Russian.

There are still so many places, areas, events which are left unknown and undiscovered for the audience. Works of so many interesting and unusual artists living in Warsaw and coming from so many various cultural regions of the world are also still left unknown.

Everybody willing to join the team is invited as well as every organization to cooperate with. Let's we discover much richer and ethnic and culture varied Warsaw.
